We had a nice long weekend this past weekend. The whole family took off to Prince George, B.C. We left Friday am, got up there in the evening. We decided to drive through the Mountains. It was a beautiful sunny day. We packed a picnic lunch, stopped in Banff National Park at a lake with a view. Mountains in the backdrop. The girls were awesome, they watched some movies on the way up. Hubby and I listened to music on the Satellite radio, that I finally had to install for hubby after he only had it for 6 months sitting in the box on top of the fridge cause he doesn’t have a clue how to use those technical things. I recommend the satellite radio, especially if you do alot of driving with no reception. We arrived in PG just after supper time, 9 hours later. Sat back with the in-laws and had some supper, chatted. The girls disappeared when we arrived we never saw them the whole weekend, totally nice. Hubby’s Ma and Pa came in for the weekend as well. Did some visiting and more visiting.
Sunday my sil picked up a slip n slide for the kids to keep cooled down as everyone was dripping with sweat from the intense heat and stunk really bad. Well the little 10 footer slip n slide was not long enough for the big boys, so they decided to to add a tarp to go a little further. Bil decided to take a run at it with the extra 5 feet added on, he come outta that one smeared in a little dogie doo. Someone forgot to check the yard. All is well though. Well, an extra 5 feet you would think would be good enough, Not! So, the boys got out another tarp. They added another 10 feet to the slip n slide, so essentially we have 25 feet of slip n slide now. Sure enough the boys blow over the slide and are slidding on the grass. Ok, they unfold the last tarp adding another 10 feet again. The race is on, who is the King? At this point the end of the tarp is almost touching the fence. Who can touch the fence first?
As you can see they didn’t get very far in that video, but you understand the just of it. The boys had tonnes of fun! The ended up with a couple of red bellies. Nothing that a few whiskey’s didn’t cure later.
We had a great weekend. My sil is an awesome cook. Great laughs, Great food, Great memories!
We left our oldest daughter up there for a couple of weeks. She loves getting away without her sisters, and she loves her Auntie, Uncle, and Cousins. We started our trek home on Monday, we were going to head to Edmonton and spend the night there. Hubby just wanted to get home. So off we headed for home. Long drive when you don’t go through the park, it took us an extra 2 hours to get home. Hubby did most of the driving, I drove for about 4 hours hit a bird. What a thunk that makes. Hubby took over driving, we were almost to Calgary and a freakin Badger was in the other lane. Dumb freakin animal decided he wanted to step in front of our vehicle and go to sleep. Holy smokes, that thing shook the van. Gotta love road kill. Well, now back to some normalcy here at home. Glad to be home!
