I got a call last week from work, they wanted to know if I had kids. As a matter of fact I do, I have 3 girls one which we shipped off for a few weeks to brat camp. They needed children for their photo shoot(I drive school bus). So, reluctantly I said yes.
Well, today was the big day. I took my 2 youngest girls down to the office/bus yard for hopefully some uneventful shots. Not the case, my 6 year old suddenly had a bad case of shyness. Oh great, one starts and the other one follows, so needless to say they missed the first shots with all the kids in the group photo. This mama begged, pleaded, and finally bribed my 6 year old and 4 year old with 50$ toys at the toy store that they so desperately wanted last week while we were shopping there. The group shot ended and we all made our way outside to do the school bus shot, yeah the school bus.
What kid does not like being on a school bus? Apparently mine only like the school bus when mama is on with them or they attend a field trip with their class and I am not around. OK, mama managed to bring them on the bus, sit them down and get off the bus. They stayed on for 20 minutes knowing that they could see me before the lady brought them both off in sobbing tears It was like someone was killed or tortured the way the came off the bus crying.
OK, about 1/2 hour later mama got back on the bus with the girls and I sat in another seat, they managed to get their photos taken for about 20 minutes. Yay! We made some progress.
Next set of shots was all the kids boarding the bus 3 at a time, the girls managed to do that pretty good when they realized they did not have to stay on the bus and sit forever. Then unfortunately Mama was designated to be the school bus driver for a few shots. Yay. Nothing like wearing a shirt that is 20 sizes too big and being taped at the back so you cannot move or bend with the fear if you do it’ll all come undone. My girls did awesome with that shot, and decided that since Mama is standing at the bus doors that they would both give me a high five. I know the photographer got that shot because he stopped for a minute to look at the last shot and showed his co-worked and had they had a little chuckle. Mission accomplished!
On to the next set of shots. They were looking for a mini van, Of course I have one! What mother with 3 kids doesn’t. So, I volunteered my van, brought it in and set it up for the shot. Lunch time! Yay, I sent the girls inside with all the other kids, they went without me! We came back out after lunch, of course I was volunteered to play the mom in the next set of shots -thanks Chris!
The girls ended up being in that shot along with 2 other boys. It was alot of fun!
I wonder if the girls and I will appear in newspaper ads all over Calgary? The girls think it is cool that they may see themselves in the newspaper. All is said and done and we had a great time, however, it did cost me a couple of 50$ toys.

We had a nice long weekend this past weekend. The whole family took off to Prince George, B.C. We left Friday am, got up there in the evening. We decided to drive through the Mountains. It was a beautiful sunny day. We packed a picnic lunch, stopped in Banff National Park at a lake with a view. Mountains in the backdrop. The girls were awesome, they watched some movies on the way up. Hubby and I listened to music on the Satellite radio, that I finally had to install for hubby after he only had it for 6 months sitting in the box on top of the fridge cause he doesn’t have a clue how to use those technical things. I recommend the satellite radio, especially if you do alot of driving with no reception. We arrived in PG just after supper time, 9 hours later. Sat back with the in-laws and had some supper, chatted. The girls disappeared when we arrived we never saw them the whole weekend, totally nice. Hubby’s Ma and Pa came in for the weekend as well. Did some visiting and more visiting.
Sunday my sil picked up a slip n slide for the kids to keep cooled down as everyone was dripping with sweat from the intense heat and stunk really bad. Well the little 10 footer slip n slide was not long enough for the big boys, so they decided to to add a tarp to go a little further. Bil decided to take a run at it with the extra 5 feet added on, he come outta that one smeared in a little dogie doo. Someone forgot to check the yard. All is well though. Well, an extra 5 feet you would think would be good enough, Not! So, the boys got out another tarp. They added another 10 feet to the slip n slide, so essentially we have 25 feet of slip n slide now. Sure enough the boys blow over the slide and are slidding on the grass. Ok, they unfold the last tarp adding another 10 feet again. The race is on, who is the King? At this point the end of the tarp is almost touching the fence. Who can touch the fence first?
As you can see they didn’t get very far in that video, but you understand the just of it. The boys had tonnes of fun! The ended up with a couple of red bellies. Nothing that a few whiskey’s didn’t cure later.
We had a great weekend. My sil is an awesome cook. Great laughs, Great food, Great memories!
We left our oldest daughter up there for a couple of weeks. She loves getting away without her sisters, and she loves her Auntie, Uncle, and Cousins. We started our trek home on Monday, we were going to head to Edmonton and spend the night there. Hubby just wanted to get home. So off we headed for home. Long drive when you don’t go through the park, it took us an extra 2 hours to get home. Hubby did most of the driving, I drove for about 4 hours hit a bird. What a thunk that makes. Hubby took over driving, we were almost to Calgary and a freakin Badger was in the other lane. Dumb freakin animal decided he wanted to step in front of our vehicle and go to sleep. Holy smokes, that thing shook the van. Gotta love road kill. Well, now back to some normalcy here at home. Glad to be home!
Well, finally I get a chance to sit and write a little bit. I have not stopped since Friday, I have been running crazy. Friday I had to attend a meeting a work, then hubby and I went out to a corporate function, then went Stampeding without kids. Yeeehaw!! Saturday was just as crazy for me. I drove for a massive Stampede pub crawl. Oh boy, did I ever have a blast! I had a wicked fun crew on my bus. They all were a hoot! They all were definitely a titty crowd! Found that out within the first 5 minutes! The guys were yelling out the window at all girls demanding they show their titties. One young man on my bus lifted up his shirt, so I yelled “Titties, Yay!” He was trying to get me to flash, I don’t think so! I had a few guys dressed up as Rodeo Clowns on my bus. One of the Rodeo Clowns yelled out, “Everyone be quiet! I’m trying to concentrate!” Everyone looked back at him, and it looked like he was giving himself a little excitement in his pants (of course he was only pretending). A couple of other young guys demanded to have their pictures taken with me cause I am so hot and all. So I gladly had my picture taken. I did manage to remember to bring my camera along with me in the event I caught something funny going on. I did get a couple of pictures.
I do have to say thank-you to everyone who was on my bus Saturday Night! Thanks for being AWESOME!! YOU ROCK!

Here are a couple of the boys just after getting out of the first bar. I think they really needed to pee! I think at one point there must have been 20 cowboys lined up along the fence relieving themselves!

Well were off for an evening of fun tonight, just hubby and I. We are heading down to the Calgary Stampede. I am sure it will be loads of fun. Corn Dogs, Hamburgers, Mini Donuts, Cotton Candy, Draft Beer, Rodeo, Chuck-wagons, Grandstand Show, Rides. Tonight is date night. The ever faithful sister is looking after the girls tonight, I kinda think they will be in bed early cause they are fighting. Hell, we might even make it an all nighter! Like that would ever happen. I don’t think hubby can stay up past midnight 9:30pm. I think I might bring my camera down tonight. Not entirely sure what all we will take in tonight at the grounds, I do know Finger Eleven is playing tonight free show with the price of 26$ admission for 2 of us. I don’t think its all that bad. I sure it will be a zoo down there tonight. Last time I went stampeding was with my sil. We had a great time, I seem to recall hitting the Casino and playing there till 3am. I did however have to drag my sil out of the cab at 4am when we finally got home. It was alot of fun. I don’t think hubby and I will be doing that sort of thing tonight. Just a nice nite out for some fun and laughter without the 3 little monsters whining and screaming that they want to here and there and that they are tired of walking girls.
Happy Stampeding Everyone!!
Nothing is more memorable than a smell. One scent can be unexpected, momentary and fleeting, yet conjure up a childhood summer beside a lake in the mountains.

It is almost complete, with the exception of a new floor, garden doors, baseboards, and crown molding. Those are gonna have to wait until the fall. Unfortunately I have been laid off for the summer. There is not much work for a school bus driver during the summer. That is Ok though. I don’t mind. I get to spend some time with my girls and have a bit of fun. Right now I am in the middle of putting a coat of paint on the walls in the dining room. Hopefully I can get that done today.

I am happy it is summer. I will not be doing a whole lot this summer but relaxing beside the pool when my girls are swimming. I bought the girls a nice little pool for passing kindergarten and grade 2. They certainly do love it. We have spent more time outside than in as of late. With the weather being so nice and warm, who wants to be stuck in the house with 3 little girls. I don’t. I think the temp today is somewhere in the low 30’s. We are smart though, we come in mid afternoon for a bit to the nicely airconditioned house. I sit at the computer for a bit, or tidy up, they run wild or watch a bit of tv. Well here are some photos of our nice little pool.

They had a blast! And I am sure they will the rest of the summer too!
